A Goal Completed
I made it and with a few extra miles! With the wonderful weather we had this weekend I was able to accomplish 2 walks a day. Today was special with seeing the blue heron this morning - very early. Then this evening I saw 4 squirrels and a groundhog, all gathering food. The squirrels were burying the nuts, but the groundhog was chowing down. I saw some really tall sunflowers and some goldenrod. Very appropriate for September.
Tomorrow is a new goal to set - I think 400 miles by November 30.
Hello, I'm curious about your walking goals. I'm an everyday walker. I average 4 or 5 miles a day during the week alittle longer on the weekends. How do you set your goals? Per two months? or mileage?
I've set my goals this year based on recovering from hip replacement and how much "smelling the flowers" time I think I need. I have always been work driven so with the hip replacement I have had to learn to take more time for myself. This fall's goal I set thinking I'll be able to handle 3 and 1/2 to 4 miles in the evening after work and double that on weekends and holidays. I did not allow for early snowfall, but did allow for some short trips in October. If you are averaging 4 to 5 miles a day, that is excellent!
