Birds are elusive:

It will be difficult to catch a bird on camera. They seem to know they are being sought out. I only saw two birds yesterday while walking. Both of them hid in the very tops of the trees, nearly hidden from view, and sang beautiful songs to tempt me. Of course, when I am not walking and I don't have my camera, they come right up to me to request a refill for the feeder. Smart little critters!

I just walked around the neighboring housing addition yesterday evening, just before the sun set. Today, which was gorgeous and even a bit too warm, turned out to be too busy and I didn't get a walk in unless I can count rushing through two mega-stores to do my shopping. I'll have to begin doing two-a-days soon!

*Yes, I am feeling much better! I haven't had a flu or a cold that zapped me so thoroughly in a very long time.*

In Honor of my 20,000th Visitor .... 20,000 things about me!

Joking!

But, you were worried, weren't ya!

Seriously, we will be without internet until March 9th when we get settled into the new house. The move was required by the Transplant Center- something about length of travel for a cadaver donor transplant, if it comes to that. You got to be there f.a.s.t!

So, we are packing up the Uhaul and saying goodbye to our dream home in Montana for abit. Well, at least 12 bits (months) or so.
Sad.

But, it's a shot at life.

So, we are taking it.

I'm sure there will be at least 8,000 posts to catch up on once we are online again, so please - nothing too wonderful between now and then!
Take care, and God Bless!

Walking is for the birds

Today I walked with some friends around the track - the location would not be my first choice, but it is a good meeeting place in terms of location and its safety. I did not walk quite a mile, since I was late, it was getting dark and the folks finally were leaving.

I like Annie's recommendation of birds of the theme - don't know if I can capture a picture of a bird in my walks, but I can certainly try!

So.... birds are the theme for the photos!

Walking and Photos

Well, here it is Lent, and I am behind the times in terms of walking and getting this as part of my Lenten discipline. Yes, let my walking begin - as I am sure that you all are on that bandwagon.

Let's do our walking and let's do our photos, but how about a different spin on the photos this year? Let's have a theme a week on the photos as we walk. A few ground rules here. If SNOW is chosen, I would be exempt from the photo taking since we don't get snow in these here parts of the deep south!!! (Last measureable snowfall around here was in the 50s and I don't remember is).

Ok, who wants to choose the first week's theme in photos? Or do you all want to do that????

Thank you all for keeping this all going!!!!

Are we walking for Lent this year?

Ash Wednesday, while walking, I remembered our mile a day challenge last year. I realized how thankful I have been that we started this--even though I haven't contributed much of the year. In a strange way, walking became a habit and I've managed to take a walk whenever the weather permited. Nothing else has ever helped me establish this simple habit before this.

At any rate, I did manage to get in a walk Thursday and Friday, as well. It has been a beautiful week for walking until today when the wind began to roar and a definite chill had set in before I had a chance to even think about it.

I'm going to try to remember to take my camera with me and share some of the views. The picture above was taken after the big snowstorm and was taken about two (city) blocks from my house. The white spot is a full moon that left a shrunken image in the photo. Gosh, it was beautiful!
