Another beautiful day in Columbus, Ohio

The sky is blue, air is crisp, and I walked for 1/2 hour (about 2 miles) around the condo grounds. I heard on the radio that 38 million will be traveling this 4 day holiday week-end. We'll drive about 2 miles to our daughter's home. I need to poke around in the pantry so I can take a sack of food to church tomorrow. I forgot to pick anything up.

Who else has Thanksgiving Day services at church tomorrow?

Now's the time to walk!

If you live in the United States, we're moving into the Big Calorie Season--with non-stop eating from Thanksgiving week right through the football games on New Year's Day. We'll make those New Year's Resolutions much easier if we walk now!

That's my thinking anyway. When the weather is gray and cold, the resolve slips. But this week, we've had 3 or 4 sunny, mild days, some with showers intermitantly, so I've walked 2-4 miles. Yesterday was the HUGE Ohio State vs. Michigan football game (1100 members of the media in town), and while the rest of Columbus watched, I walked. Not too many people were outside.

Do we need a new 50 day resolve?

I have a new blog! This one is called Growth Industry. When I set up the title, I didn't realize that it also starts out "grow thin" although one of my first entries is about weight loss. This one is for people 50 and over and how they are meeting the challenges of this phase--new career, leisure time, grandchildren, health, retirement, being a care-giver, relationships, etc. I'm looking for a few good writers who might want to contribute a topic. I'll link back to your regular blog. Drop me an e-mail if you are interested. nbruce32 at medscape dot com.
