A cooling rain

Columbus got a quick downpour this morning about 11 a.m. and then it cooled off. This afternoon I went for my first walk this week--in the 90s it's just too hot to walk on concrete and asphalt. The neighboring apartment complex had all its streets repaired this spring and summer, and is quite pleasant now for walking. Several little Chinese and Indian girls were playing and picking up acorns--they became treasures--gold coins, babies, jewels. Same things I played with my friends back in the 1940s.

When the sidewalks were installed last year, our street side bushes were cut down almost to the ground, but they are now about 7 ft. tall and blowing in the wind.

Hi, Kelli.
You left a comment on www.funmoms.org on September 16th, and won a giveaway for a set of Sharpie Highlighters. If you could email me at emailfunmom@yahoo.com, to tell me where to send them to, I will be happy to put those in the mail for you. Congratulations!
Leslie

Hi Norma,

I enjoy your pictures. Haven't been able to join in to the blog, because my internet provided has tied my e-mail to google which interfers with my sign-in here.

Your comment about the shrubs - all but 3 of my shrubs are being
cut way to the ground this fall so I can start with new growth next year - the rain we have had the last 2 years has them growing way too tall and way too wild!
